What is Air pollution ?

Air pollution refers to the presence of harmful substances or particles in the Earth's atmosphere. These pollutants can be released into the air by natural processes or human activities. Common sources of air pollution include industrial emissions, vehicle exhaust, burning of fossil fuels, agricultural practices, and natural phenomena like volcanic eruptions or wildfires.

The pollutants in the air can take various forms, such as gases, particles, or liquid droplets. They can include carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, particulate matter, ozone, and volatile organic compounds. These pollutants can have detrimental effects on human health, ecosystems, and the environment.

Air pollution can lead to respiratory problems, cardiovascular diseases, and other health issues when humans breathe in polluted air. It can also harm plants and animals, damage ecosystems, contribute to climate change, and decrease overall air quality.

Efforts to reduce air pollution involve implementing regulations and technologies to control emissions, promoting cleaner energy sources, improving industrial processes, enhancing transportation systems, and raising awareness about the importance of sustainable practices.
